Disclaimer: Food is not poison and one should eat lot of food
We all love food don’t we? Apart from the folks who suffer from body dysmorphia or are self conscious about their body, they might not like food because food and their bad lifestyle is the cause, maybe they should consult a psychiatrist?
The key to anyone’s heart goes through their stomach, we all have heard this. Offer anyone their favourite food and viola, you have a slave..I means friend for life. Slavery is bad. I always imagine what would have happened if Saddam offered burgers and french fries to Americans, they wouldn’t have bombarded Iraq then maybe.
We all remember our favourite chaat when we ate it and the spicy green chutney landed on our taste buds and we felt ecstatic. Right? We all love that feeling.
You might also remember eating your favourite chinese food with all the cancer causing sauces and how it felt when it landed in your stomach and even the hydrochloric acid in the stomach wasn’t able to digest the explosively spicy hot sauce. Phew. Remember the acid reflex? ehehe
Food is the backbone of humanity, to function we need food. But how much do we need? A lot of food nowadays, especially the fast food is not good for one’s health. The question is why it isn’t? Well, I am no expert but usually taste is directly proportional to how much bodily harm the food can possibly cause. Bland food is good for our health, but who likes bland food, we only live once who cares eat whatever you want.
And I am just kidding.
The question of how to make food healthy while preserving its taste has kept me up at night. I am kidding again, I don’t really care that much.
I think I have lost the plot of the blog, I am not sure what I was trying to say and what I am saying. In the past decade food has taken front seat in dinner discussions…why? We have no other suffering so we are developing an artificial one? The social media influence adds to the fire. You must have noticed how “Nutritionist“ has actually become a real job. People are charging for making menus for your daily consumption. I even know people who measure the calories in the food they eat, my god, what kind of nalla (neet) you have to be to have time for that.
I try hard to not judge people but seriously man, some people need to be judged. There is no judgement free zone in the world. Have you observed the countries with higher obesity rates are richer? This is just a made up thing. Maybe there is a connection, maybe there isn’t.
So why has the need for being health conscious suddenly arisen in the Indian masses? Why have people become so obsessed with protein? I think there is a subtle conspiracy behind this. We are being pushed towards an end goal. We don’t die early, we buy more things, companies get more revenue, etc etc. See all my conspiracy theories revolve around capitalism. My simple brain cannot think of anything other than the fact that money powers greed.
I don’t know being healthy is good, but at what cost? If I cannot eat Rajma Chawal what good does adding 10 years to my life does? I’d rather die 10 years early.
Fin.
